Michelle Espinal-Embler

Mom. Wife. Daughter. Trailblazer. Organizer.

As a young woman of color, raised by a strong and nurturing mother, and with two young children, I am driven to unite all our sisters and brothers in taking back our government.

All of my life I have taken active steps to contribute towards making our world a better place.  At a young age I      was mentored by an artist, who is a strong LGBT woman business owner, and she showed me the power of    words to move communities to action. My heart was filled with the courage to take bold action and always           pursue goodness, even when its not easy.

"Virtue is bold, and goodness is never fearful."

These words have inspired me to never act from fear - even when conventional wisdom would have me sit back and follow the status quo.  That is why I am running - to be the CHANGE. As an intern for the Congress for Racial Equality (CORE), in the public relations and marketing division, the lessons of my childhood that 'we are all created equal' were solidified in my heart and mind. It is the clarion call by which I live my life focusing my actions on ensuring that WE all have EQUAL rights to live, love, and pursue happiness while ensuring that we PROTECT our planet as one people without regard to superficial differences knowing that it is our DIVERSITY that makes us STRONG.

My education in politics was gained as the youngest ever intern for US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton - at the age of 15.  It was at this time that I clearly understood it is the responsibility of our government to SERVE 'we the people'.  As a constituents affairs intern I realized that  our elected officials are entrusted with being our VOICE.  As a lifelong Democrat I hold dear the tenets of our great party that:

"Health care is a right, diversity is a strength, the economy should work for everyone, and facts and truth matter."

As a campaign manager, marketing executive, former board member of the Dallas County Young Democrats, founding member of Downtown Dallas Democrats, City of Dallas appointee to the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center,  and fundraising chair of the Parent Teachers Organization (PTO) at my daughter's public school in Coppell, I have DEDICATED my time to supporting progressive candidates and causes, promoting social EQUITY, and raising money for education and progressive issues in Dallas County. Our Dallas County Democratic Party needs a DYNAMIC, energetic, driven, and progressive Party Chair with the skills I have honed over the past 15+ years. Skills to GROW our base, NURTURE future leaders, raise money to promote and SUPPORT our democratic candidates for all elected positions.  It is our responsibility to support those committed to our VALUES in every way we can - not charge them for our support.

As a grassroots DRIVEN party, that is for the people by the people, FOSTERING our precinct chairs and progressive groups is essential.  My primary responsibility as your Party Chair will be to provide all of the needed funding, tools, RESOURCES, and support to make the Dallas County Democratic Party the prototype for turning Texas blue.

As the Dallas County Democratic Chair I will work to ensure that every democratic candidate for judicial, municipal, county, state, and federal elected positions is supported and nurtured (regardless if their race is "partisan" or not).

I will ENCOURAGE, support and nurture our fellow Democrats who UPHOLD the Democratic values of:

  • PROTECTING voting rights, freedom of religion, women’s right to make our own health care decisions, and equality for the entire LGBTQ+ community.;

  • Criminal JUSTICE reform;

  • Preventing senseless gun violence and treating gun violence as the deadly public health crisis it is;

  • Ensuring that every child – no matter of ZIP code – has ACCESS to a quality public education;

  • Curbing the effects of climate change, protecting our natural resources, and ensuring the QUALITY of our air, water, and land for current peoples and the FUTURE;

  • PRESERVING and protecting the value of healthcare being a human right that should be accessible to all in our nation;

  • Treating all people who come to the United States with dignity and respect, and EMBRACING all immigrants;

  • Making debt-free college AVAILABLE to all Americans, holding ACCOUNTABLE companies that ship profits and jobs overseas, fighting for equal pay and paid leave, and ensuring the wealthiest citizens and largest corporations pay their FAIR share of taxes;

  • Closing the “digital divide,” by EXPANDING access to high-speed broadband internet to provide access, information and education while serving as a central resource for small businesses and entrepreneurs to generate economic GROWTH.
